The 3rd International Workshop on Reliable Networks Design and Modeling (RNDM) was held on October 5-7, 2011 in Budapest, Hungary. This three-days event was organized by:
Jacek Rak
Brigitte Jaumard
Roland Wessaely
(General Chair)
and technically co-sponsored by IFIP TC6 WG 6.10 (Photonic Networking group) and IEEE.
After a careful review process (all papers received at least 3 reviews, and some as many as 5), 27 papers were finally selected for publication. They were organized into seven technical sessions.
Workshop program was enriched by two keynote talks of Prof. David Tipper (University of Pittsburgh, US), and Prof. Janos Tapolcai (Budapest University of Technology and Economics, HU) entitled: On Providing Quality of Resilience Classes in Multi-Layer Networks, and Signaling-Free Failure Localization in All-Optical Mesh Networks via Monitoring Trails, respectively, and by the tutorial of Prof. James P.G. Sterbenz (University of Kansas & Lancaster University, UK, US) entitled Future Internet Resilience, Survivability, and Disruption Tolerance: Disciplines, Architecture, and Analysis.
The success of RNDM 2011 was assured by the team effort of a lot of people. Our sincere thanks go to the authors for their high-quality papers. We are also extremely grateful to the members of the Steering Committee, Technical Program Committee, and external reviewers for putting the great effort into the distribution of the call for papers, and the timely delivery of detailed reviews. Finally, we are grateful to the chairs of the ICUMT 2011 congress, HTE (Scientific Association for Infocommunications Hungary), as well as Asszisztencia Congress Bureau for their friendly support and cooperation.
