RNDM has been established as a single-track workshop each time attracting world-class participants from both academia and industry working in the area of reliable networks design and modeling. RNDM 2012 follows the success of the first three events that took place in St. Petersburg (2009), Moscow (2010), and Budapest (2011), accordingly.
The fourth edition of RNDM was organized by:
Jacek Rak
Mario Pickavet
Hideaki Yoshino
(General Chair)

and technically co-sponsored by IFIP TC6 WG 6.10 (Photonic Networking group) and IEEE Region 8.
After a careful review process, including at least 3 completed reviews per each submitted paper (on average: 4.2 completed reviews per each paper), 26 papers were selected for publication. They were organized into seven technical sessions.
Program of RNDM 2012 was enriched by two keynote talks of Prof. Kishor S. Trivedi (Duke University, US), and Prof. Krzysztof Walkowiak (Wroclaw University of Technology, PL) entitled: “Survivability Quantification for Networks” and “Survivable Content-Oriented Networks – Modeling and Optimization”, accordingly, as well as by a Panel Discussion “Future Research Directions in Reliable Networks Design”.
The success of RNDM 2012 is without doubt owing to the team effort a lot of people. First of all, we are grateful to the authors for their high-quality papers. Our sincere thanks also go to the members of the Steering Committee, Technical Program Committee, and external reviewers for their great effort in distribution of call for papers, as well as the timely delivery of detailed reviews. Finally, we are grateful to the chairs of the ICUMT’12 congress, as well as Monomax Ltd. for their friendly support and cooperation.
